Dunga dunga dungarees

I've had these asos dungarees for a while and they've spent most of that time hung up in my cupboard. Hence I thought I would up-cycle them into something I will wear more: a play suit. I'm not sure that I've EVER owned a playsuit/romper which is odd because when online shopping I will always select Playsuits first to look at. This is probably because super picky and poor so I rarely see something worth buying that I can also afford.

JOANNA HALPIN
Premier models

The other thing which prompted me to do this revamp is this picture of Joanna Halpin (Joanna is a megababe model and I predict she is soon going to be even more massively successful than she already is because THAT face, THAT hair, THOSE eyes, THAT everything). She is wearing a playsuit by Faithfull the Brand which sadly isn't available on the website YET. I loved the idea of the beach towel stripe print and colours and then the way the shorts sloped up from the inner thigh; an idea which I decided to transfer onto the playsuit.

Instructions: The pictures are quite self explanatory but I'll explain the way I finished off the shorts. I used the overlocker to tidy the cut edges and then ironed them into a thick hem (4cm or so). I then, by hand, using needle and thread, fastened the hem to create an invisible hem and ta da you are finito! Basically when I'm sewing the over locker is my best friend. Or even more than that. A soul mate. It cuts, sews and finishes and prevents fraying and so much more. It's a real babe.
